Warrington Rowing Club Crews were in action at the weekend, competing at the Chester Long Distance Sculls, a 5000 metre time trial on the River Dee.
Ella Stanhope and Maddie McCormick were victorious in the Women’s Junior 15 double in the morning event. Also competing for the Juniors in the Junior 15 division and finishing a close 2nd were the quad of Angus Stewart, Sam Dickenson, Josh Critchley and Michael Lee coxed by Megan Dunvabond.
Also competing were the Women’s Junior 15 quad of Feona Donnelly-Worthington, Ella Stanhope, Lauren Hughes and Beth Potts with Cox: Hattie Wallis who finished 5th in their event and the Womens Junior 15 double of Ollie McFerran and Max Bury who finished in 9th in their event.
Congratulations are in order for the Womens Quad of Charlotte Brennan, Gill Laidlaw, Carole Green and Charlotte Moll who finished first in a magnificent time of 20:02:01 in the WIM3 quad event and for Rowan Lidbury who won the Womens Masters Single event.
Also competing were the Mens Masters C/D Quad of John Goode, Jonathan Budd, Paul Rigby and Matt Holmes who finished the afternoon event 38th out of 95th overall and the Women’s Masters Quad of Donna Sleater, Jen Hind, Ceila Critchely and Sian Henrys who raced over the line in a time of 21:36:4. The Club is in competitive action again this weekend (Saturday) at Runcorn Head-of-the-River, a 4500 metre course on the River Weaver.
